The Democratic Spanish Cauk in Miami-Dad has announced the launch of a new billboard campaign in Florida, criticizing Cuban-American Republican politicians, accusing them of transmitting immigrant communities and the American dream.
The sign will rise to the Palmto Autostrade between Doral and Hyalus, aimed at US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Congress Mary Elvira Salazar, Carlos Gimenes and Mario Diaz-Balart.
The billboard will include the word “traitors” in bold letters along with the phrases “Immigrants, to Miami-Dad, to the American Dream” and images of four politicians, as Miami Herald reports.
More than half a million people from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela are confronted with potential deportation, as the administration is moving to terminate programs as a temporary protected status (TPS) and humanitarian conditional release. The Democratic Spanish Cauk in Miami-Dad has condemned the four politicians for not advocating the rights of immigrants and to enable the aggressive tactics of the removal of the Trump administration.
Abel S. Delgado, President of Cooke, shared his comments about the importance of the billboard through a statement through the X account of Caucus:
“Marco Rubio, Maria Elvira Salazar, Carlos Gimenes and Mario Diaz-Balart turned their backs to us. Instead of standing up for our families, they stood silently as the immigrant communities were directed, detained and deported.

The Democratic Spanish Caucous in Miami-Dad uses the billboard as a first step in a broader campaign to mobilize voters and attract these selected employees for the responsibility of what is the pursuit of Republicans for the large Latin population of the state. “We will not be quiet,” Delgado added. “We will not let them hide behind the pretending of patriotic speeches while our families are torn.”
The campaign comes against the backdrop of growing political tensions in Florida, especially among the Spanish community of the state. Although some Latin American voters, especially those of South Florida, continue to support President Trump’s immigration policies, many Venezuelan immigrants who have previously supported Trump, feel betrayed after the administration canceled the defense of TP, leaving them with deportation vulnerable.
In response to the campaign, Salazar told Miami Herald that criticism was “cheap Castro -style propaganda”, claiming that she had fought more than any other for the rights of the Venezuelans, the Cubans and the Nicaraguans fleeing dictatorship.
