Western Virginia (WCHS) – A flooded clock was issued for parts of the Tripartite Region and Central West Virginia, starting overnight.
The watch, issued by the National Meteorological Service, enters into force on Friday from 1 am to Saturday morning, as heavy rain is expected overnight and Friday.
The flood monitoring area includes Wayne, Cable, Mason, Jackson, Lincoln, Putnam, Cana, Roan, Kalhun, Ming, Logan, Boone, Clay and Braxton in West Virginia. Also included are the Counts Greenup, Boyd, Carter and Lawrence in Kentucky, as well as the cities of Gallia and Lawrence in Ohio.
Officials expect heavy rain on Friday to lead to excessive outflow in some areas, which can cause floods in low -placed and flooded areas.
