Baton Rouge – at least five people are taken in guard, related to theft of vehicles and theft of pistols in Southeastern Louisiana.
Law enforcement agents worked on Wednesday morning to capture two people who are said to be tied to multiple vehicle thefts through various parish in southwestern Louisiana.
Batton Rouge police officers deactivated a white Honda on the southern Akkadian grass on the ramp at about 9:45 am. The law enforcement to WBRZ that two people were jumping out of the car and they were taken in guard after a one -hour search in the area.
The East Baton parish sheriff’s service said that the driver, 18-year-old Jacquir Brown, was linked to two additional thefts of vehicles in the trade near the center of Town. Brown was booked for two brenees of vehicles, owning a stolen motor vehicle, owning a stolen firearm and possessing a machine gun, as the stolen firearm is completely automatic.
The court records show that Brown was released from custody in November after spending five months in prison related to the death of Arnes Hawkins. Brown was arrested for second -degree murder, a simple burglary and handling a firearm, but was only accused of preventing justice. He was in court on January 13 for this accusation. The documents say Brown was arrested in 2023 when police officers from Baton Rouge caught him in a vehicle in the Arlington Cottages and Town Homes parking vehicle on Ben Hur Road.
Sources said WBRZ’s investigative unit that the suspects are focused on theft of vehicle weapons, but will take off with cars if the keys are left inside.
St. Gabriel Ambin Ampbo police chief said the White Honda was stolen from Popingo gas station on Tuesday morning. He said the driver entered the store and when he came out, his car was gone. AMBO said the driver reported that the number of the registration plate was stolen and was placed in a chambers system, which is connected to the readers of registration plates in multiple parishes. The law enforcement agencies were notified at about 6:30 on Wednesday that the car was in the parish of East Baton Rouge.
Also on Tuesday morning, two vehicles were stolen and many others were broken in the Airgas parking lot in Geismar. The service sheriff of the parish parish stated that one of these vehicles was found at a truck stop in St. Gabriel by police. The other vehicle, the GMC 2019 Black Canyon, is still missing. MPs said three people participated in thefts.
Ibervil’s parish sheriff said that Ibervil and West Baton Rouge parish deputies arrested three people from the Batton Rouge area on Wednesday, who are connected by seven car thefts. The officials said they had stopped a car that was driven on the Mississippi River, where it was disabled at about 12:30 Wednesday. The deputies arrested 18-year-old Timothy Bessi, Stephen Smith and Joshua Stevens for seven issues of the ordinary burglary of a motor vehicle, an aggravated flight from an officer and resistance to arrest. Smith was reserved for an additional counting of an aggravated attack on an officer.
