Parkersburg – The annual Pinewood Dervy Kootaga derby was held on Saturday at the Center for Activities at College at the University of West Virginia in Parkersburg, with eight packages.

“So each of the packages has its own individual type of derby and then this is for the winners of the package level,” “ Alan Campbell, a scoutmaster for scout America from the army 20, said.

He said the event allows scouts “Build a car all your own” and “Exercise creativity” in the design and engineering of their vehicles.

Kathy Wise, volunteer marketing and communications, said Covid has influenced the derby over the last few years, but interest in intelligence has increased as the area welcomed two new packages in Ripley and Gransville.
