It happened at Doc Nichols Road on Friday afternoon.
Durham, NC (WTVD) – The first reacting saved a man on Friday, who fell into a trench and rammed into Durham.
It happened in the 2000 block of Doc Nichols Road shortly before 4:30 pm.
Initially, the sending was for a closed or structural collapse, but the call was changed to the trench.
The Durham firefighters arrived at the scene and found a male construction worker with their feet buried in dirt after a wall of the trench fell on it. 34 firefighters responded to the call and managed to take the man in just over 30 minutes.
He was taken to hospital with unknown injuries.
The Durham Fire Service was aided by Durham County EMS, the Sheriffe office of Durham County, the Relion Fire Service and the Durham Highway Fire Service.
