Find out who and what’s on the ballot in federal, state and local races for the 2024 election – WBRZ

Before you go to your polling site and vote, it’s important to know who and what’s on the ballot.

The most famous race is undoubtedly the presidential election. The front-runners are Vice President Kamala Harris (D) and former President Donald Trump (R).

In the Capital Region, four congressional seats are on the ballot in Districts 2, 3, 4 and 5.

Area 2: Troy Carter Sr. (f), Devin Davis (f), Devin Lance Graham (f), Christy Lynch (f) and Shondrell Perillo (f)
Area 3: Priscilla Gonzalez (right), Clay Higgins (right), Xan John (right) and Sadie Summerlin (right)
Area 4: Mike Johnson (right) and Joshua Morot (right)
Area 5: Julie Letlow (right), MV Mendoza (right) and Michael Valien Jr. (right)

Numerous other public offices governing multiple parishes are also on the ballot.

Commissioner of Public Services, District 2: Jean-Paul Cousin (right), Nick Laborde (right) and Julie Quinn (right)
21st Circuit Judge: Matthew Belser (right) and Lyndon Bennett Magee (right)
23rd Circuit Judge: Jennifer Gautreau Prescott (D) and Tony Falterman Menard (D)

A proposed new constitutional amendment deciding whether federal revenue Louisiana receives from alternative or renewable energy sources generated along the coast should go to the Coastal Protection and Restoration Fund or go to the state’s general fund is also on the ballot.

There are also key contests for both the vote and public office in multiple parishes. It is important to note that only contested races are included in this list. Any candidates who are unopposed will not be shortlisted.
