Sophomore Tommy Fitzer struck his ticket to the State Wrestling Tournament next month after finishing third last weekend in Renault.

Fitzer finished 4-1 in the Saturday tournament for all girls in the northern region of McQueen High School, where the first four fighters in every weight advanced to the state tournament for the next month in Fallon.

Fitzer (130 pounds) won her first two games in the fall to move to the semifinals when she lost four points to fall into the comforting bracket. Needing another victory to move to the state, Fitzer nodded Jasinda Munoz-agular of Reed in the second period to finish no worse than the fourth. She followed her fourth pin for the day, removing Kaylan Higgins from southern Taho in the third period.

Three others were fighting for Fallon, but they did not qualify. Garcia-Bishop tune (100), McCila Taylor (125) and Zoe Rasmussen (140) went 0-2.

The boys travel to regional

This weekend, the boys will compete in the North 3A regional tournament in Renault.

Fallon ended 7-4 in the double tournament from last weekend in Fernley, which determined the sowing for the regional tournament, which begins on Friday at Waster high school.

The four best fighters move to the Falon State Tournament next month.

Competing in the Regional Tournament Will Be Braylon Byrd (106), Manny Barros (113), Evan Mackuliak and Trey Bradley (120), Evan Garcia (126), Andre Green and Rio Segura (132) (132) Mcintrye (144), Carson Melendy (150), Wyatt Lambert (157), Matthew Bird (165), Colton Blankenship (190), Jason Lewis (215) and Tyson Wilson (285).
