Gonzaga to Host Screening, Panel Discussion in the Documentary on Salmon
A movie that covers the long struggle of the salmon tribes and their right to fish for them will be shown at Gonzaga University next weekend.
Called “Fish War”, the film in 2024 combines archival footage and insights of activists in the battle for a decade in the fight for fishing for the tribes, according to Gonzaga.
The screening will be on March 2 from 16:00 at The Globe Room of the University Cataldo Hall.
This will be followed by a panel discussion with the participation of Dr. Michel, Executive Director of Uniter Columbia United tribes and a citizen of the Confederate tribes of the Colville reservation; Twa-le Abrahamson, the organizer of environmental justice and a citizen of the tribe of Indians spokes; And a retired lawyer Tom Keif.
The film covers the duel after Washington State moved to restriction of tribal fishing areas, which led to a 1974 court ruling, which confirms the rights of the tribal treaty, according to the statement.
It was the official selection of the International Film Festival in Seattle and the International Film Festival in Vancouver.
Washington hunting 2025-26, fishing licenses available and fishermen who want to stay in front of the game can buy their Washington hunting and fishing licenses 2025-2026.
The Fish and Wildlife Division in Washington notifies hunters and fishermen in an email earlier this month that the products for next year are available online and with personal license traders.
Licenses would not be valid until April 1, so it’s not time to throw the old one.
Licensed years in other countries have turned or are about to turn. The New Year of Aidaho’s license began on January 1, and Montana begins on March 1st.
