Florida federal agents and states have detained suspect members of a Venezuelan band during an operation in Talahasi, according to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and motor vehicles.

The Agency does not publish other details of the operation on Monday, including how many were detained, the location of the operation and the names of the detainees.

It was the second time in less than a week that the Florida highway patrol has partnered with federal agents to detain people suspected of immigration and related violations.

The recent ICE implementation activity has set fear in immigrant communities in the big turn, making some parents take their children out of school against the backdrop of rumors about social media attacks.

Meanwhile, at least four men in Panhandle face federal charges after claiming to have entered the United States again after being deported before. Two men were initially arrested by police in the Gulf of Persian during a stopping of traffic on January 27, according to federal court records. Another was arrested by FHP during the stopping of traffic on January 30 in the Pensacol area.

Elizabeth Ritchie, a Talahassi Immigration Law, said ICE focuses on the application of people with criminal history and/or previous deportation orders, although he added such persons to draw up a small part of the total immigrant population.

She said that the government generally influences previous deportation orders when someone returns to the country after being removed. However, she said,

“It’s just very expensive for the state to do this,” she said. “But … a lot of this is optics.”
