Family judge after died of the Scottsdale facility – Arizona’s family

Scotsdale, AZ (Azfamily) – The family of a man who died in the heat after disappearing from a living life support facility in Scottsdale, brought a case earlier this month against the owner of the facility.

According to court documents filed on January 17, 85-year-old Robert Paulman came out through the front door of Brookheven on the 131st assistance of “unnoticed” near the 131st street and Shee Boulevard on June 23, 2023.

He had just moved to the facility just days before and went wrong for his new situation, as he had Alzheimer’s disease, so he continued to walk.

About 40 minutes later, a Brookheven employee noticed that Paulman had disappeared and called 911.

Two days later, he was found dead about a quarter of a mile.

The lawsuit says he died because of the extreme heat.

The Arizona Ministry of Health Services said the front door of Brookheven has no working alarm system when someone leaves the facility, the lawsuit said.

Paulman’s daughter also said the door was not fitting properly.

The court claims that Brookheven at the 131st knew that Paulman had Alzheimer’s and left his previous care establishment and climbed a tree.

His family sues an unlawful death for negligence and violation of the Adult Defense Act, but did not say how much money they were looking for.

They are looking for a jury.
