Nairobi – The Gilbert Kinua family requires justice after his shocking death while receiving treatment at the Kennia National Hospital (KNH).

What was Gilbert Kinua ill?

Kinyua, which was accepted due to complications in urination, was brutally killed by unknown attackers, leaving their close devastated.

According to doctors, the condition of Kinyua is caused by a bacterial infection. After undergoing surgery, he developed wounds that failed to heal, extending his stay in the hospital.

In an exclusive interview with Tuko.co.keHis wife, Susan Vanjiku, described him as a calm and social man who never had conflicts with anyone.

She also revealed that another male patient, perceived by many as mentally ill, was the main source of Kinua’s support at the hospital when she was not around.

The patient helped Kinyua in basic tasks such as nutrition and change as he was too weak to move on his own.

Despite her efforts to check the patient to talk about her husband’s death, she was denied access by raising additional concerns about the circumstances surrounding his death.

She now believes that the patient who has helped Kinyua can provide decisive information about the investigation.

How does the Kinyua family raised money for his treatment?

Kinyua’s only brother, Jimmy Irung, 25-year-old Matatu Tut, says he is struggling to accept the tragic loss. According to him, Kinua was a peaceful and supportive man who had never participated in any dispute.

“I didn’t believe it. I’m still recovering. He was too weak to harm someone or even eat. We wonder how someone can plan to harm such a defenseless person,” Irungang complained.

Before his death, the family was raising funds for his treatment through WhatsApp contributions, as they had previously relied on fundraising to release him from St. Mary’s Hospital in Langa when he showed no signs of improvement. On the day he died, they had already collected 7,000 ksh for emergency treatment.

“We were trying to ensure that he had improved just to be shocked by the news of his murder in a hospital bed. It’s traumatic. The trip was too expensive and we never expected it to happen,” Irung said.

The family of the victims now calls on the Directorate for Criminal Investigation (DCI) to accelerate the probe and reveal the truth behind the tragic death of Kinyua.

“I am now the only son of a son and we have no parents. Kinua had a wife and two children who depend on him. We pray for justice as soon as possible,” Irung added.

The widow of the deceased expressed deep suffering, wondering how they would take care of their children now.

“I only survive tea.

The family is now waiting for additional updates from the authorities as they demand a thorough investigation into the incident.

Meanwhile, KNH CEO D -Riham Sigilai confirmed the incident, expressing deep sorrow because of the patient’s death.
