Expected starting lineup, injury report, how to watch Timberwolves vs. Mavericks – Dunking with Wolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves will return to action on Tuesday night when they take on the Dallas Mavericks at Target Center. Facing the team that ended its historic playoff run to the Western Conference Finals less than six months ago, Minnesota will look to continue its improved play against a balanced Dallas team.

After dropping their opening night contest to the Los Angeles Lakers, the Wolves have largely found their rhythm. Anthony Edwards was productive as usual, and Julius Randle really settled into his role, making effective shots and improving Minnesota’s offensive approach.

Minnesota will now focus on improving its interior defense and returning to its status as one of the best defensive teams in the association. They will have a tough task facing the Mavericks, who caught up by signing Klay Thompson in the offseason.

Dallas was able to suffocate Minnesota in May thanks to their long defenders who were able to slow down the Wolves’ steady offensive approach. In adding Thompson, they also lost one of their best defenders in Derrick Jones Jr. The Mavericks are still figuring some things out and it’s the perfect time for the Timberwolves to avenge their playoff loss.
