CBBT staff said that while they are obstructed during tunnel, it was not uncommon, this strike took an extra eight months of construction to remove it safely and repair chess.
As the tunnel is boring is already completed, the crews will then start constructing the roadway inside the tunnel, installing electrical/mechanical systems and building supporting buildings.
Officials are currently evaluating that the tunnel will be completed and open to traffic until the beginning of 2028.
