"Everything you see here, she did it": When Richard Five Reflections on her late wife Linda at her home in Wyoming – Sportskeeda

In 2015, Richard Petty toured how his late wife Linda with one hand organized her home in Wyoming, the United States and how he always found the love of her life around even after her death. They had a beautiful property south of Yellowstone National Park in Star Valley.

The house was around the mountain top in the National Forest Bridge-Teton. The couple could enjoy the mountains away from their home in Idaho, through the Sulisk River in the center of the valley. It was the King House bought in 1993 after visiting the valley with his family in the winter.

Accompanied by his wife, four sons and several grandchildren, the fifth visited southern Jackson for a winter retreat. He said (via USA Today):

“I had promised the grandchildren that there would be snow. When we got here, there was none. Something different.”

A year after withdrawing full -time competitions in the NASCAR CUP series, it has become a hot spot for Richard Petty and the winter escape of his family, a house organized alone.

“Everything you see here, she did or chose,” added Richard Petty. “Colors, floor, chairs, paintings – everything. You see it everywhere.”

The fifth and his wife remained in the house most of all during the winters from 1994 to 2014, until her death in March 2014 due to cancer at 72 at their home in Level Cross, North Carolina.

While the King was far because of her racing duties, Nascars’s first lady took care of the house.

“She took care of the house, she took care of the bills. He did all this,” said Richard Petty. “I went out and did my competitions and work. Then it was as I said to people – three lives. She lived life, I lived life and lived with life. So we were married for 55 years, but we probably lived together 25.”

Fifth married Linda Owens in 1958, when she was 17 years old.
