For the first time in five years, ESPN’s “College GameDay” will come to LSU.
The show announced Saturday that it will be broadcast next Saturday from Baton Rouge before the Tigers play Alabama, a game between 6-2 teams that will essentially eliminate the loser from the College Football Playoff race.
LSU said the show will be broadcast from The Quad. It starts at 8 am
LSU last hosted College GameDay on Oct. 12, 2019, prior to a 42-28 win over Florida during the Tigers’ undefeated national championship run.
Although LSU has been the visiting team featured on the show since, most recently earlier this season when the Tigers traveled to South Carolina, this is the first time College GameDay has returned to Baton Rouge.
It will be LSU’s 14th time hosting the popular pregame show, fourth-most in the nation behind Ohio State (23), Alabama (19) and Michigan (15).
LSU plays Alabama at 6:30pm on Saturday at Tiger Stadium. It is the first game between the teams since former LSU and Alabama coach Nick Saban retired. In his first season, Saban is a College GameDay analyst.
