Elderly, several pets evacuated after east Las Vegas house fire – Fox 5 Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Clark County Fire Department says an adult and several pets have been displaced after an east Las Vegas home fire.

The fire broke out Saturday at 6 p.m. in the 6000 block of Bryce Canyon Avenue. The fire became a second alarm response due to increasing fire conditions observed by arriving crews.

The first engine arrived at 6:12 p.m. Firefighters developed a defensive strategy. At 6:33 p.m., teams began searching the house.

Clark County was assisted by North Las Vegas and the City of Las Vegas in response to the fire. A total of 10 engines, 4 trucks, 4 rescuers, 3 battalion chiefs, 1 air resource, 1 EMS supervisor and 2 firefighters responded for a total of 71 personnel.

Southwest Gas and NV Energy responded to Secure Utilities. Clark County Fire said the American Red Cross has been asked to assist displaced adults and pets.
