This weekend, family, friends and followers said goodbye to the late Cuban singer Jose Manuel Carbajal, better known as El Tiger, at San Lazaro Church in Hialeah, Miami. Numerous colleagues of the performer gathered there to pay their last respects, as well as dozens of fans who wished to honor him in an emotional event. Among those present was the artist’s family, including two of his daughters, who experienced this painful moment closely.
The mother of Yaliet, the eldest daughter of El Tiger, shared photos on the girl’s account where she is accompanied by her mother in this difficult moment. In a video showing the little girl at a funeral, she wrote the following heartfelt message: “I miss you so much dad, I will never forget you. I carry you in my heart and in my every thought and in the faces of my brothers and sisters whom I love so much Fly high until you are with my grandmother.”
Sofia Karim, another of El Tiger’s daughters, also attended the tribute. A particularly emotional moment came when the little girl called Cuban singer Osmani García “uncle”, unable to hold back her tears in response to the child’s display of affection.
El Taiger’s musical legacy not only leaves an indelible mark among his fans, but his colleagues in Cuban music are also fighting to keep his presence alive through his songs. Several artists have paid tribute to him through music.
The emotional farewell in Miami is further evidence of the great impact that El Tiger has had on his loved ones and the Cuban community.
