Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelati went to Washington on Sunday to meet with US -based US and Congress members after President Donald Trump sailed a plan to move Gazanne to Egypt and Jordan.

His departure came when Cairo announced that he would host an “Emergency Arab Summit” on February 27 to discuss “the most serious developments” about the Palestinian territories.

According to a statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Abdelati’s visit aims to “strengthen bilateral relations and (the strategic partnership between Egypt and the United States” and will include “consultations on regional developments”.

Egypt seeks to Marshal Arab allies against Trump’s Gaza Plan for Gaza, with Abdelati talking to partners, including Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates on Friday, to oppose any forced displacement of Palestinians from their land.

In a separate statement, the ministry said that Cairo calls an emergency regional gathering “after extensive consultations from Egypt at the highest levels with Arab countries in recent days, including Palestine, which demanded the summit.”

He also coordinates with Bahrain, who is currently chairing the Arab League, the statement said.

Last week, Trump sailed the idea of ​​the US administration over Gaza, planning to restore the devastated territory in the Riviera of the Middle East after moving the Palestinians elsewhere, namely Egypt and Jordan.

The remarks sparked the global reaction and the Arab countries categorically rejected the proposal, demanding a decision by two countries with an independent Palestinian state with Israel.
