The era of Ian Holloway in charge of Swindon Town began in dramatic fashion at the County Ground.
Presumably watching before taking charge on Monday, Holloway saw his new side go down to 10 men in the first nine minutes and then fall behind to Gillingham.
He went down to the touchline to try to convert and was also part of the team talk at half-time before Harry Smith grabbed a late, late equaliser.
Gillingham ended a five-game losing streak, but it won’t feel like it.
That’s five wins on the bounce for the leaders, Port Vale but in the end they were closely run over AFC Wimbledon. Darren Moore’s side raced into a 3-0 lead as Jaden Stockley grabbed his third but had to hold on for a 3-2 win.
Wallsll remain second but were held 0-0 at Accrington Stanley while Alasana Jatta’s goal for Notts County lifting them into third place with a 1-0 win Harrogate.
Crew go fifth after falling from 1-0 down to win Tranmere 3-1 and MK Dons did the same to also win 3-1 at Grimsby with Scott Hogan on the record.
Michael Cheek scored a late equalizer for Bromley to win a 1-1 draw with Barrow.
Newport County and Fleetwood Town played to a goalless draw while of Carlisle misery continues – still in relegation zone after 1-0 defeat at home, improving Cheltenham.
