Edward P. Gorzkowski
OBITUARY
Edward P. Gorzkowski Sr., 92, of the Glendale section of Pittston Twp., passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at his home. His wife, Mary Ann Bednar Gorzkowski, died in 2000.
Born in Avoca, he was the son of the late Michael and Anna Gorzkowski. He was a veteran of the US Army. Edward was the owner of Modern Gas Sales, Avoca. He was a member of Queen of Apostles Parish, Avoca.
Edward was a beloved father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle who was cherished by his family and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He enjoyed watching Western movies and enjoyed playing baseball and the Philadelphia Phillies.
Surviving are his children, Edward Gorzkowski, Jr.; Joseph Gorzhkovski; Linda Herman; John (Jay) Gorzkowski; and Richard Gorzkowski, all of the Glendale section of Pittston Twp.; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his parrot Madison.
He was preceded in death by his brother, John Gorzkowski; and sisters Madeline Cashmark and Margaret Jumper.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Queen of Apostles Parish, 715 Hawthorne St., Avoca, by the Rev. Philip J. Sweetie, pastor. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
