Wilmington, NC (WWAY) – The small home community Eden Village of Wilmington is preparing for the big extensions this summer.
The Community – which first opened in 2023 – covers a bedroom, one home home for people who experience chronic homelessness, which means they have been homeless for more than a year.
Recently, the Non -Profit organization has purchased a close home to Avenue Kornegay, which will be used as a stay facility for restless people who leave the hospital.
Executive Director Sean Hayes said the house would give homeless people who leave the hospital to recover as they release the hospital beds.
“We just want to be able to help as much as we can, and we believe that housing is healthcare. So we will shelter some people who need healthcare, “he said.
The Non -Profit organization is also under the land contract for the construction of an additional 14 small homes on the other side of the street, where the holiday house is. Hayes said the time -day time line is still in the process of working.
