Baton Rouge – Suspect of Kristopher Davis, who was released by mistake in Baton Rouge by parish deputies, East Carol, was seized on Sunday night, authorities said.

East Baton Rouge MPs and other law enforcement authorities had spent the weekend in search of Davis, which was released on Friday morning at Baton Rouge Greyhound Station near the city center.

The sheriff office spokesman says the agency is reviewing its practice of paying parish east Carol to shelter EBR prisoners in the light of the quirky mistake.

34 -year -old Davis was arrested in January 2023 on charges of murder in the murder of Deander Duncan. His murder process has been set for March.

East Carol MPs led Davis and other prisoners who actually had to be released to the bus station. They were dressed in civilian clothes.

It is not clear why East Carol MPs put Davis in civilian clothes and took him to Baton Rouge. East Carol Sheriff Waidt Williams did not return a few messages on Monday.

It is also unclear why the agency failed to notify the authorities of East Baton Rouge for hours after Davis dropped out at the bus station.

Eastern Baton District Prosecutor Ruzhi Hillary Moore said Davis had a reputation for entering the prisons.

This is not the first time a prisoner housed in the parish of East Carol has been released wrong.

In 2022, the condemned parish killer of the Ascension Michael Leblan was also released after serving time for an unbound pistol fee. He was later arrested again in New Orleans.

Davis was booked at the parish prison in East Baton Rouge and on a simple charge of escape.
