Eagles could sign former star to pair with AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith – Sports Illustrated

The Philadelphia Eagles will be in a lot of conversation over the next few days.

The National Football League trade deadline is just a few days away, and that means rumors and speculation are about to run wild. Will the Eagles look to add in the next few days? maybe But any deal around the deadline would be worth some draft compensation.

There are other ways the Eagles could add without sacrificing draft picks. There are some players available in free agency that could be worth pursuing for the Eagles. Former New Orleans Saints star Michael Thomas is still in there somehow and should really be considered.

Thomas was the best receiver in football at one point, but that doesn’t necessarily matter in this discussion. Injuries derailed him, but he managed 10 appearances last season. He had 39 receptions and 448 yards in that stretch.

That’s what the Eagles need. Philadelphia acquired Jahan Dotson to be the team’s No. 3 receiver behind AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith and entered the Week 9 showdown with six receptions and 35 yards.

If the Eagles want to make a deep run this year, it might make sense to stock the offense with as many weapons as possible. Thomas is seemingly healthy and showed last season that he still has something in the tank.

The Eagles could easily draft him and he would cost nothing in terms of picks. It seems pointless.
