Driving conditions reported after freezing rain at the beginning of Wednesday in the Topeka area – Wibw

Topeka, Kan. (WIBW) – There were a smooth driving conditions at the beginning of Wednesday in the Topeka and Northeast Kansas districts, as a thin icing of ice had covered road sails and bridges.

Authorities described some of the road sails like “ice sheets”.

The temperature in Topeka was 27 degrees at 5:19 Wednesday, contributing to freezing rainfall on road sails.

About 5 o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, they pointed out crashes of a vehicle that did not hurt the interstate 70 near the US-75 highway exchange, as well as near the Westgate Bridge on the west side of Topeka.

Meanwhile, about 65 miles east of Topeka, Kandrive reports that in the West I-70 was closed early Wednesday between the I-435 and the US-40 highway in Kansas City, Mo. This is expected to be valid until about 5:30 am. Wednesday and motorists were advised to find alternative routes.

It has also been reported that part of the Interstate 435 in Kansas City Mo. was closed at the beginning of Wednesday.
