TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – A 20-year-old man has been charged with vehicular manslaughter and DUI manslaughter after a fatal crash in November, according to the Tallahassee Police Department. The accident resulted in the death of two rear seat passengers.
On November 24, 2024, at approximately 3:27 AM, Officers responded to a single vehicle accident near Cagus Street and Hayward Drive. The vehicle had left the roadway, hit a tree and flipped onto its side. The driver, Christopher Congdon, and the front seat passenger were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, while both rear seat passengers were pronounced dead at the scene.
After a thorough investigation, detectives determined there was probable cause to charge Congdon with two counts of vehicular homicide and two counts of DUI homicide. Deputies with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office arrested Congdon at his residence and he remains in the Clay County Jail.
The Tallahassee Police Department is reminding everyone not to drive under the influence.
