On Tuesday (October 29), Laura Govan appeared in a new interview with Carlos King on his podcast, ‘Reality with the king.’ During the hearing, Govan spoke about his time at “Basketball Wives Los Angeles,‘ her thoughts on its creator Shaunie O’Neillfellow cast member Evelyn Lozadaand a fight she claims she had with Draya Michele.
While we were discussing the latter, Carlos King asked Laura Govan to set the record straight about the rumors that Draya Michele is having an affair and sleeping with her ex, Gilbert Arenas. King and Govan referred to a March 2024 conversation Arenas had Nick Youngwhere the latter claimed that he once drove a car while Arenas performed oral sex on Michele.

In her interview with Carlos King, Laura Govan said the alleged incident happened during her breakup with Gilbert Arenas, but he eventually admitted it. Govan said that Draya Michele was invited toBasketball Wives Los Angeles‘ as her sister’s friend Gloria Govan and she didn’t know she was allegedly having an affair with Gilbert Arenas. She recalled, “I liked her. I was like “Oh shit. I like this chick. She’s cool as hell, she’s funny. But I had no idea it was there when Gilbert jumped. I had no idea.”
Laura Govan said she then learned about them having an affair when she was going through documents at their house and learned that Gilbert Arenas had given Draya Michele $25,000 and brought her to Los Angeles. Govan said she “rightfully” went to where Michele was filming that day and “fucked him”. Govan said she wasn’t scheduled to film, but she showed up anyway to confront Michele, which never made it to air.
Govan recalls: “I beat the hell out of Draya. I think I picked her up by the collarbone and threw her. And then I spat on her and was trying to get to her forever after that. Am I proud of these things? Absolutely not. But what you won’t do is be my friend. Don’t face me. And from what I heard, you were fucking him at the time. So I’m thinking what do I do with this? I was her friend. I liked her and you make me like this? I will make you so.”

Draya Michele caught Laura Govan’s comments and chimed in on her Instagram story. Michele originally wrote: “I’m not bothering anyone. Why doesn’t anyone bother me? (Read again).” She then left, claiming that she doesn’t usually clarify things, but she was sick of being “cyber bullied” and “podcast bullied” for almost a year.
Michele said: “First of all, I’m not one to explain nonsense, but enough is enough. I was cyberbullied and podcast harassed for almost 12 months straight by men and women. And they have remained silent. I don’t care about likes, comments or virality. But if I’m going to be trending, I’m going to be trending today and all day. I haven’t messed with anyone’s husband. Let’s clarify that no one was married. Let it also be clear that the interactions I had with him were years before I was on the show. I didn’t know her then. And I also didn’t know her when I agreed to be on the show, or her sister. I didn’t even know any of them were going to be on the show. So saying the word “friend” is a huge stretch. I agreed to go on the show and pretend to be friends with a girl named Gloria who I didn’t know were her sisters. And at the time, even if they had said her sister, I still wouldn’t have known because I didn’t know her.

She added: “I don’t come on social media and bash people. I didn’t always have the conscience I have today. That being said, I’ll keep most of what I say polite. To be honest. During my time on the show, it was the highest rating it had ever received. Many of you won’t admit it, but I brought comedic relief, a breath of fresh air, and most importantly, a connection to the normal girl who watched the show. All my dirty laundry was aired on the show. And when I say everyone, I mean everyone. I’ve been called some of the worst things on national television. I’m almost at the end. But I will say that my storyline carried the show. Worn. Worn. Worn. If there was anything related to me I trust and believe it would have been put out there (broadcast) for the further enjoyment of people who watch trash tv.
She continued: “Again, I don’t go on this internet and attack anybody. I certainly don’t blame the woman in every situation where I am owed some respect by my man. I don’t go on this internet and often tell my side of the story because I respect the fact that it’s not just my side. I give grace to many people by keeping quiet and not sharing. Deadlines are not schedules. And I feel sorry for people who can’t understand that. I hope you are reading this in a tone that is that of a strong woman coming back to the internet defending herself. And not a victim. I am never a victim. I am a winner. Now if you’ll excuse me. I’m going to go back to my completely normal, non-reality TV, multifaceted life. thanks Go vote. For Kamala [Harris].”
