Dozens gather when Durham County welcomes in Chinese New Year – Photos – the northern echo

The celebrations for the Chinese New Year in the center of Durham began with a thunder yesterday (February 1), as people of all ages gathered to join.

The interaction with the crowd was a beautiful red and orange dragon, participating in a traditional dance dance.

The dance is associated with strength, luck and strength and has origin as early as 206bc.

But what is the Chinese New Year?

The Chinese New Year, also known as the Lunar New Year, is a 15-day festival that marks the beginning of New Year in Chinese and synrophone culture.

The Chinese Zodiac is also associated with celebrations, which is a 12-year cycle in which animals, including the dragon, ox and the pig, are appointed to describe the year and anyone born in it.

2025 is the year of the snake.
