Down the farm – in the middle of the season in Seattle Kraken for Prospect – the sound of hockey

“Down on the Farm” is your weekly update of all things in Seattle Kraken. This week we will arrange the prospecting pool of Seattle, provide a video for Ollie Josephson update and intelligence, get you data from the last week and browse the upcoming week. As always, if you have a question related to the perspective, you want to see presented in a future column, drop us a note below or on X or Bluesky @deepepseahay. Let’s dig.

2024-25 in the middle of the season in Seattle Kraken Prospects ranking

During this pause in the NHL schedule, we have a time to think and one thing we wanted to do was take your pool ranking in the middle of the season in Seattle Kraken.

Two alert warnings. First, we approach this project with the accumulated help of humility. As we do our best to be informed and to watch as much as possible, personally I have not watched any non -riggies or pros of Whl more than a handful of times this season. (And right now I’m deep in my video work, so it leaves even less time.)

Second, the “ranking” of the prospects that are already in the system is a little small. Unlike the ranking of the prospects before the extraction, whereby the difference between player No. 4 and No. 6 can make a difference in the real world, what is the consequence since the player is already in the organization? In fact, the question is whether an individual player meets or exceeds the development trajectory. Ranking the prospects is fun and the goal is to disclose information about the progress of players, but they are just a starter for conversation.

With what was said, I turned to this ranking focused on the player’s forecast NHL contributions. My approach paid some attention to the “ceiling” of the player, “under” and a timeline, but I decided close cases by asking which of two players I would prefer if I could have only one and my sole purpose was the success of the NHL team S I tried to avoid thinking about the current status of the Kraken list and instead focused on the player’s merits.

Here are your prospects for deep sea hockey hockey. I will follow a few reactions from other writers here on HockeyAnd then some final thoughts.

  • John Bar: “As much as I love Oscar Fisker Mölgaard, I don’t think we know enough about him to put him so high on the list. He still has to play ice in North America and will have to contribute more more if we rank it # 2. Carson Reschopf also has questions, but he has shown the ability to score and will probably be more price than A Center for Exclusion. “
  • Darren Brown: “I would also put the sale of Eduard higher. Such a strange development curve for him, but he has shown that he can be an effective professional. “
  • Blaiz Grubic: “The names that pop up to me like Low: Lleyton Roed, Tyson Jugnauth, Jacob Melanson. The names that look a little too tall: Ryan Winrtton, Julius Mietien. It definitely looks like the ranking favors age. “

John touched the individual ranking that made me go back and forth. For me, Berkli Caton was obviously the # 1 perspective in the system, and Nyman was solid # 4. Conversely, it was difficult for me to have Mølgaard and Rehkopf between No. 2 and No. 3. So, they are similar class or level for me. This marks the rise of Mølgaard from my pre -season ranking.

Rehkopf has a higher ceiling, I would say as a first-class assessment wing, but this value is largely bound by an elite shot. The depth of his skill set did not fill in much. It’s a little difficult to do in Ohl, where he can win consistently with what he has. He needs the challenge of a higher level of competition and will receive it next year. Mølgaard, on the other hand, already has high -level professional challenges for two years and answered, pressing his game forward all over the board.

It is difficult for me to imagine a future in which Mølgaard is not a productive NHL center of the third line within a few years. It may be more than that, but it is unlikely to reach the peak value of Rehkopf. Rehkopf, on the other hand, can struggle to find the time of the NHL unless his elite features translate completely.

If you turn them to this ranking, I wouldn’t argue with you much. And I would imagine virtually all the other charts you could find, there will be Rehkopf over Mølgaard (and maybe so much). So, this ranking is available as a market correction (or a conversation starter), if nothing else.

Eduard Sale is another interesting one noted by Darren. I went through stretching with him this season, where I believe his game outside the navel has turned into an angle and he has learned where he should be in the offensive and protective areas to find success. In other perspectives, I was at all struggling to notice it. He had a strong World Cup for Jr. and his early running in the Coachela Valley listened. I would like to see him confirm with a solid finale until the season if I am going to put him above the consistent, hardworking high -level players such as Winterton and Mietein.

Blaise noted several names that he thought was too low and liked everyone, especially Road and Junut, so it’s hard to argue. I explained my high attitude towards Winterton a few weeks ago. Mietenen really impressed me as a piece of the depth of world adolescents. It is easy enough to see a professional role for him that I could not justify his relocation too much more on the list.

As for the system defenders, I think Jugnauth and Lukas Dragicevic are at a similar level. Dragichevich is younger and longer, with perhaps some superior physical traits. Jugnauth is more advanced, detailed and dominant offensive in Whl this season. Still, I would take the Caden Price of both, despite the recent assessment drought due to a superb defense profile (if no production has been realized) to go with offensive skills. This said that there are significant questions about Price’s projection, which is why my top defender comes to No. 9 in the system.

Finally, to goalkeepers, we have documented (and exhausted adjectives to describe) the dominance of Kim Saarinen and Semion Vaizovo in their respective European professionals. The inherent variability of the position is the only thing that holds them so low in the ranking. These two have made perhaps the largest production jumps in the system this season (Jugnauth also comes to mind). Still, Nickke Coco’s solid work in the closest area next to the NHL convinced me to hold him as the best goalkeeper in the system. Although no one gets national attention, this group of goalkeepers is quite strong, in my opinion.

Let’s get Quizzical

Cutton’s pace with 1.98 game points is the eighth best pace of a season in Whl in the last 20 years. Two of the players above it are also in the Kraken organization. Who are they?

Notes for three prospects of Kraken

Ollie Josephson | F | Red deer rebels (whl)

2024 The choice of the fourth round Ollie Josebson missed about a month since the Whl season from late December to late January with an apparent injury. Red Deer Rebels captain returned to the line last week and returned to the rating column this week, with two points in four games. His production at the points has never lit Whl, but he plays quickly, is a strong check and back check and plays all situations for Red Deer. It is designed as a player of the lowest six roles. Check out his change from Red Deer’s October 5, 2024, a game against Calgary below, in which he had a goal and two assists.

Jani Nyman | F | Firebirds Coachella Valley (AHL)

Nyman has points in five straight matches for Firebirds (three goals in total, three assists and +3 plus-minus during this section). He now has 19 goals in AHL this season, which is the largest among AHL recruits, third among AHL players on 23 or more than 11th and 11th in AHL as a whole. After a transitional period at the end of last year and to start this season, Nyman finds a place to use his elite shot with regularity. There are still skates, possession of a washer and defensive aspects of his game, which need more time, but his supporting trait works only on one level under the NHL.

Carson Rehkopf | F | Brampton Steelheads (OHL)

Last Friday, I saw two remarkable offensive explosions from Kraken’s best prospects. Caton scored four goals and an assist, while Rebel scored three goals and added three assists. We recognized Catton for last week Hockey The prospect of the week So it looks appropriate only Rehkopf to take the award for this week. While his other games were a little bigger, the presentation itself won it on Friday.

KRAKEN PROSPECS data update

Nathan Vilnew’s preliminary distinction is a tendency to be late. Last week, he had four goals and an assist in three OHL matches.

In response to our prompted “Let’s get Quizzical”, the current Catton rate of 1.98 points of the game was headed by teammates of Kraken Jagger Firkus (last season) and Oliver Bjorxtrand (in 2014-15).

Semion Vyazovoy remained in VHL (Russia from the second level Pro League) for the second consecutive week. He did everything he could to prove that he did not belong there and must return to KHL by posting a stop is his only start.

Currently, Victor Östman is on the NHL list after the team has sent Ales Stech to AHL as part of some before four nations for piercing maneuvering. The NHL rules require NHL teams to wear two goalkeepers at any given time, and Östman was the choice to fill second place during the break. He carried the most heavy workload among Kraken goalkeepers in minors and performed well for Maverix. So he wins a well-deserved vacation (and at the NHL salary, no less). I expect him to be returned to Echl at the time when NHL players return to practice on February 18th.
