Dotd Holding press conference discussing the closure of exit on Washington Street – WBRZ

Baton Rouge – State Representatives and the Ministry of Transport and Development want to close the Interstate 10 exit on Washington Street until December, a coalition of officers said on Monday.

Dotd distributed flyers, mentioning the potential closing of the Washington street exit. Now Dotd Secretary Joe Donkyu and representatives Dixon McMakin and Chad Brown are hoping to move on with the closure. McMakin said the goal is to come out on Washington’s street by Christmas from 2025.

Donku called the area of I-10 around the exit one of the worst difficulties in the whole I-10. With the closure of the exit, he said that there would be less problems with weaving and congestion in the area, which would also reduce the crashes.

The plan is to remove the plate and block the barrier ramp before the possible destruction of the ramp itself with the ongoing expansion project, which is expected to be completed by 2028.

At a press conference in front of the output, the trio held a ceremonial “breaking” on the output ramp on Washington street with gold painted spray hammers.
