Cold legs, Brennon Conroy almost saved his idea – at the last moment.
“You can be canceled,” his father warned.
“I was like ****, I won’t do it,” Congoi, co -owned by Americana Pizza.
But his mother, who helped to create a teen turtle turtle costume, disagreed. “I think it’s funny,” she said.

Americana Pizza, which operated on S. Americana 304 Blvd. since the end of 2018, has been expanding to second place in the recently closed Cucina di Paolo space of 1504 S. Vista Ave.
Motorized Betty – who has escaped over the sign outside since at least 50 years of the last century – comes with the small building. Decades ago, it housed Maytag laundry.
Conteral hoped that turning Betty into a ninja turtle would be a fun marketing video.
“Instagram liked it!” He says happily.

Within 10 days, pizza lovers will also have something to celebrate. The new location of Americana must open then – with Betty to watch it.
“If someone is crazy,” Konoy adds laughter, “Don’t worry! We’ll get her back in a dress within two weeks. “

The small new location will have the same business model: log in and come in – or bring you. “There will be two places,” says Conroy. “If you want to sit there and eat a slice … Go right away.”
The sign outside is restored with fresh LEDs and neon. What about Betty? It is still functioning. “You creak and move,” Congoi says.
He and American co -owner Max Lily hope that expanding Vista can take some pressure over the weekend from the original store.
“We are generally looking for a second place for a minute,” Congoi says. “Especially with the forthcoming doom of cold storage too.”
Last year, the future of the property with 1.73 acres on S. US ”304-who includes Boise Cold Storage and American Pizza-Stana Mustitime. The sandstone building next to Rhodes skate park under the Boise connector was launched.
But for now, it remains business as usual. There is no word that American pizza should come out soon, Congoi says. “It’s not like buying it and destroying it the next day.” So he and Lily will “release two joints.”
But if the pizzeria ever has to leave its original location? They still have Betty.
“We just couldn’t cross this building,” CONROY says. “It’s so cool.
“… This is our exit strategy.”
