COPLAY, Pa. — On Monday night in the swing state of Pennsylvania, Donald Trump Jr. hit back at his favorite media foils for likening his father’s rally at Madison Square Garden to a pro-Nazi event of the same name in 1939.
The Nazi slurs come as MSNBC aired clips from the German-American Bund’s infamous rally alongside footage from the former president’s Sunday event at the World’s Most Famous Arena — and the former first son wasn’t having it.
“Trump in Madison Square Garden, there was a Nazi rally there 90 years ago. What do you mean?” Trump Jr. fired back from the stump at a shooting range in purple Lehigh County.
“I think Taylor Swift just played Madison Square Garden,” he continued, prompting laughter from the crowd. “Does that make her a Nazi?”
Although Swift hasn’t played MSG on her current Eras Tour, she has rocked the venue many times in the past.
In a comedic moment, Trump Jr. highlighted the press’s painstaking efforts to draw parallels between his father and the infamous Nazi dictator.
“They’ll say, ‘Trump drank a glass of water,'” he said. “Oh, you know who else drank water? Hitler, baby. He drank water too!’
The surrogate son also called on Democrats for political persecution and censorship of the MAGA movement — labeling the anti-Trump campaigners as the real fascists.
“The people who call you Nazis and fascists and things like that, they are the ones who take the fascist game and follow it,” he said.
Trump Jr. also hit out at the record high inflation of the Biden-Harris administration, recalling that a recent trip to McDonald’s cost $48 for him and three of his children.
Inflation, he said, “is not going to change my habits, but I promise you one thing: If Donald Trump Jr. has sticker shock at McDonald’s, we have a serious problem in our country.”
