Does Lubbock OVERCOME chains? Another closes in 2024 – FMX 94.5

Another restaurant chain has folded in Lubbock. This time in a category I didn’t expect.

According to a post from KLBK News, Logan’s Roadhouse has closed for good. The news site posted photos showing closed signs on the restaurant’s doors.

Lubbock can’t support a steakhouse? This seems ridiculous. However, it was a very tough year for all restaurants, especially the chains.

We can’t ignore the world’s biggest elephant in the room—Lubbock has the world’s largest Texas Roadhouse.

Besides being huge, this place also runs like a machine…I have never had a problem getting a table and my food in a reasonable amount of time. It couldn’t be easy to compete with that.

Additionally, Lubbock is home to several other chain steakhouses and some amazing local steakhouse options, such as Triple J Chophouse, Cagle’s, and Double Nickle.

Also, if you look at the comments on the Facebook post, many Lubbockites (some of whom I know and trust a lot) have left some “good riddance” based on their experiences there.

I’m honestly surprised it lasted this long. Every time I went the food and service was terrible.

I really tried to support them, but I had too many bad experiences. Texas Roadhouse never disappoints

Still others expressed support for the restaurant, saying they liked it and would miss it.

We have eaten there for the last 15 years usually on a Sunday afternoon, no problem with steak, salad, tea or waiting

I personally can’t speak to the quality or lack thereof as I’ve never eaten there. Like I said, too many fantastic local options.

Whether or not the restaurant itself is at a loss, it really sucks that the people who were employed there are now suddenly out of a job. We hope they find stable, reliable and well-paying jobs soon (if they haven’t already).
