Did commercialism make Valentine’s Day meaningless? – Daily independently

By Scott Mickner | Sun City West

Valentine’s Day seems pointless from all commercialism: be sexy, buy expensive gifts, buy high flowers, buy junk boxes, buy balloons, buy saplings … Buy … Buy.

It is for my family when we remember the day my wife died of cancer: Valentine’s / Valentine’s 2009. We were in the hospital, the doctors were on painkillers; She wanted to tell everyone how much she loved them, after which he went into a dream caused by drugs and died in the early hours of February 15th.

During our time together on the ground, Valentine’s Day was a fun greeting card for shoes, dinner at home and a flower pot for the table that eventually entered our garden (if you can remember the gardens), in the office or in the office The church as a gift to close.

We were happy that we were thinking on Valentine’s Day, appreciating to have each other.
