A new initiative for criminal stoppers

Officials have also announced a new encouragement program to promote advice in cases of murder, in partnership with Capital Region crime stoppers.

Criminal Criminal Station CEO Johnny Dunham said that the organization is currently offering up to $ 2500 for information leading to a murder case and up to $ 5,000 for multiple murders. However, in a new initiative called the “First 48 Awards”, these awards will be doubled if the information is provided within 48 hours of committing the crime.

“We will increase the award for one case of killings to $ 5,000, and for multiple killings to $ 10,000 if the tip is obtained within the first 48 hours,” Dunham said.

“We know that the community plays a decisive role in resolving crimes,” Edwards added. “By double the prize for quick and accurate advice, we hope to motivate more people to come up with information that can help us bring criminals to court.”
