Marley Watkins went home the only goal of the game in the 72nd minute to raise the closet in Ninth place in Scottish premiere.

United players were adamant that Watkins was a faural goalkeeper Jack Walton before nodding the ball above the line, but the goal would be allowed to stand.

The Rugby Park chief was surprised that there was some debate about the decision to allow Watkins’s winner – instead he insisted that Walton had to be stronger.

“The goal is a wing and it is inappropriate from their point of view,” Makin said.

“There is nothing controversial about this, the goalkeeper must be stronger.”

In recent weeks, Kilie has not been able to receive her awards for good performances, but here they had to withstand long periods of pressure from visitors.

Sam Dali hit the crossbar with the title of the second half, and Glen Middleton had to do better after it turned out to be descending to the door.

Makin admits that his team is the second best for spells, though he was delighted, as they showed a different way to raise the three points.

He added: “We played a lot better and have nothing from the game.

“I think Dundee United was better than us in the first half, they looked like a team that led to confidence from where they were in the League.

“There are different ways to win games. At this stage of the season and in the context of where we are, we have shown so many aspects to do the job.

“The result controls everything, this is a great result and the one we needed badly.”

United Chief Jim Gudwin has taken a contrast to his colleague at Kili at the decisive purpose.

After watching him repeatedly, Gudwin was confused that VAR employees decided not to interfere.

“True frustration is the way we acknowledge,” Gudwin said.

“I have been looking at it now from many different angles and I cannot understand how the boys in the VAR studio do not exclude this or at least ask the referee to come to review the monitor.

“Jack Walton is trying to get off the ground and this is impossible because Kilmarnock’s hand is forward through his face before directing him to the target.

“It wasn’t the result we hoped if the game had finished 0-0, then I don’t think there would be many complaints about me or Derek.”
