Demonstrators gather at Tim Cole Memorial to protest icy raids – KCBD

Lubbock, Texas (KCBD) – The people here in Lubbock gathered to protest immigration and raid to customs on Saturday and protest against President Trump’s immigration policy.

The demonstrators met at the Tim Cole Memorial near the 19th and University Avenue on Saturday morning.

Many held Mexican flags while others held signs protesters against immigration and customs application (ICE).

In the last two weeks, there have been meteors in other cities of Texas, but none of Lyubok since Saturday.

Organizers say the purpose of the protest was to share resources and build a maintenance system to feel safe.

We talked to Brown Barrett members, a civil rights group who believe that they were fighting injustice.

“They see every skin now, every brown person is a criminal and this is unfair. That’s why we’re here. Brown berets, we are here to teach you for your rights and who you are, and we have to uphold these rights, “said Jose Kazarez.

Lyubok’s police claim that the demonstration was calm.

They temporarily closed the intersection of the 19th and University Avenue to allow protesters to be safely scattered. This intersection has since been opened again.
