Defeated in Lubbock, Arizona Wildcats reverses the script in McKale with 82-73 win over Texas Tech – Arizona Daily Star

Tobe Awaka had 10 points and six rebounds to help Arizona take a half-time lead with 39-37 over Texas Tech on Saturday at McKale Center.

Wildcats fired 48.5%, ahead of Texas Tech 21-14, and held Red Raiders to 39.45 shooting. But Red Raiders were 5 out of 12 of the 3-point scope and hit all six free throws that they took to stay close.

After suffering their only major loss of 12 years in Texas Tech on January 18, Wildcats scored the first basket of the game when laying by AWAKA, then took the leading up to nine points while staying ahead for more than 18 minutes of halftime.

However, Texas Tech forward JT Toppin scored eight points in the last 3:20 of the first half to pull the red rameds in a basket. Topin finished the first half with 12 points and eight rebounds

UA plays without starting ahead Trey Townsend, who developed symptoms of concussion after hitting the back of his head on the floor in byu on Tuesday while UA coach Tommy Lloyd launches freshman Carter Bryant in his place. Bryant went to no result with two fights for seven minutes before half.
