Dawn Staley emphasizes that Chloe Kitts should be more aggressive for the success of South Carolina: "Played smart games with himself" – Sportskeeda

Dawn Staley and South Carolina Gamecocks have extended their winning series to 16 games on Sunday, defeating the Auburn Tigers 83-66 in their Coll in SEC in the Colonial Life Arena. Chloe Kits was one of the four players who scored in double numbers for Gamecocks, which improved their total record to 21-1.

The whale scored 13 points in 26 minutes, shooting 6 for 9 of the pitch, including 1-for-2 beyond the arc. She approached the recording of her sixth double double for the season, gathering nine fights. She also had two assists and one theft.

KITS revealed at her press conference after the game that the dawn Staley wants her to be even more aggressive against Objn. She painted the fury of South Carolina coach that she did not pull the trigger during an offensive sequence in the second quarter.

“She said she had to shoot the ball. She said that as nine times only in this possession,” Kitts said. “Because I didn’t shoot the ball, then they stayed as seven seconds and we had to find out what to do. And then no one was in a bounce position, so it just turned out to be bad.”

Kits also said that freshman Joyce Edwards sounded the mood of the dawn Staley and called for her to let him fly.

“She yells at me [that] I had to shoot the open shot. Joyce was screaming at the free throwing line to shoot the ball, “Kitts said.

At the dawn, Staley was told about the KITS statement at the post -game press conference and was asked how she encouraged her players to call her own number when needed.

“Don’t call your own number. This is the shot you need to make,” Staley said. “Chloe probably felt as if she had shot a lot more than she usually shoots, so now she becomes shy because she feels it.”

“And it’s just about playing the right way. When you play the right way, it’s a very clear process.”

“It has to be a very smooth process and I guess today Chloe played smart games with himself, and sometimes it happens. It’s a selfless act,” Staley said.
