Austin – South Carolina’s chief coach Gamecocks Dawn Staley expressed his dissatisfaction with the service at the beginning of the SEC on Sunday against No. 4 Texas Longorne.
During an interview with Holly Rowe at ESPN at the end of the first quarter, Staley torn the referees for some dubious conversations against the two teams.
“I want to say that people are here to see the players play. I know I can talk about Vic (Schaefer) about this because either, either, our team or their team, let the players play,”, Staley said. “People want to see players make plays and do the game. So I’ll just say it. I’ll continue to talk about players. We won’t adapt because that’s the way we play.”
By the end of the first quarter No. 2, South Carolina was already called for nine fouls, while Longhorns made seven. Texas led 18-16 at the end of the opening neighborhood thanks to a pleasant start from Madison Booker.
Longhorns eventually led 36-27 leads over Gamecocks in halftime after scoring South Carolina to its second lowest quarter of the season in the second quarter.
Texas lost the first meeting of the season against South Carolina, 67-50, on January 12 in Colombia. In this game, Longhorns took another 28 goal attempt in the field than Gamecocks, but they were made with 16-3 shortcomings in quick breakdown points, along with shooting only 27.8 percent of the floor.
