Dana Flynn, who killed ex-lover while having affair with her pastor, denied parole – AOL

Dayna L. was recently denied parole. Flynn, an inmate at the Topeka Correctional Facility serving time for the 1992 murder of her former lover. in Giri District.

Flynn, 61, will be eligible for parole in early 2025. and could be released as early as Feb. 1 of that year, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections website.

Flynn and her brother Mikel Dreiling, now 51, were jailed for life after being found guilty in 1996. in first degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit perjury.

Dreiling was also convicted of making a terroristic threat stemming from statements he made to a second victim. He was released on parole in 2019. and lives in Saline County.

How did Randall Sheridan die?

Randall Sheridan, 41, was shot five times with a shotgun as he ran along a gravel road a half-mile from his home southwest of Junction City, prosecutors said.

Sheridan and Flynn were fighting a custody battle over their then-7-year-old daughter, who was born after they had an affair while he was separated from his wife.

Sheridan was killed a day after a judge changed visitation requirements, allowing him more time with the girl over Christmas and barring contact between the girl and Flynn’s minister, Jerry Rollins.

How was Flynn connected to a church pastor in Salina?

Prosecutors said Rollins, then the pastor of the small Pentecostal Fountain of Life Church in Salina — which Dreiling and Flynn attended — was Flynn’s lover and mentor and suggested to her that Sheridan was an evil man who was abusing their daughter. Child welfare investigators found nothing to substantiate the allegation of abuse.

Authorities said Sheridan intended to expose Flynn’s alleged affair with Rollins.

Authorities say Rollins tried to cover up the crime.

Rollins was convicted of two counts of assisting a felon and has served time in the state penitentiary since November 1997. through March 1998, Kansas Department of Corrections records show.
