Dr. Anthony Facuchi, a leading expert in infectious diseases in the nation, said that in an ideal world, Americans would stop shaking.
“I don’t think we have to shake hands already to be honest,” said Facuchi, a key member of the White House special group, during a Wall Street Journal podcast. “Not only would it be good to prevent coronavirus, but it would probably drastically reduce the cases of flu in this country.”
A longtime defender, Facuchi is something like a mission, making his work in another interview this week with Sinclair Broadcast Group, saying that society should “forget about shaking. We don’t have to shake hands. “
“We have to break this habit,” he argued.
Asked to clarify his controversial position on Thursday morning, Facuchi said he did not expect his proposal to stick, but he could always wait.
“In the perfect world, when you are dealing with the potential for this terrible experience we are going through, knowing that we are against it (spreading an infection) hand in hand, it would be something I hope to hope is achievable, But I don’t think so, ”Faucci said.
