Wilmington – Cynthia Van Strickland left this world suddenly and went to be with his heavenly father on January 19, 2025, at the age of 81 in Wilmington, North Carolina. Born on May 18, 1943 in Charleston, SC of Cliffon B. Van, Jr. and Mary Van, Cynthia’s journey through life is marked by passion, commitment and unwavering heat for life.

Cynthia was a beacon of inspiration known for her honesty and kindness, wrapped in behavior that shines from life. Her favorite color, purple, often decorated her from head to toe, reflecting the life spirit that characterizes everything she did.

After graduating from High School in New Hanover and attending Mars Hill College, Cynthia met with the love of her life Jerry Strickland, on Wrightsville, a place that forever occupies a special place in her heart. It was here that she found the joy of swimming and walking along the shore, hugging the beauty of nature.

The early days of Cynthia and Jerry in Wallace were marked by entrepreneurial energy when she opened a factory output store. However, it is in real estate that Cynthia really flourished, devoting more than 40 years to the industry. Her remarkable career saw her that she had been introduced into the Hall of Fame of FEAR’s brokers, a testimony to her unwavering dedication and success. Cynthia’s impact was felt throughout her community, as she helped countless people and families find their dreams for dreams, selling many properties two and three times.

Beyond her professional achievements, Cynthia’s heart was dedicated to helping others. She enriched her life through her participation in the scholarship to study the Bible of Pine Valley, where she serves as a teacher, sharing wisdom and communion with her group every week. Her famous cream cheese cakes were a hidden enjoyment at her restaurant, Salt Works on Wrightsville Beach, brought the joy of all who tasted them.

Cynthia was preceded by the death by her parents Clifton B. Van Jr. and Mary Van and her beloved husband Jerry Strickland. She leaves behind her inheritance of love and hidden memories of her family: son Sherwood Strickland and his wife, Diane, daughter Cindy Conway and her husband Sean and son, Van Strickland and his wife, Christie. Her brothers Clifton B. Van, III. Both his wife Marianis, Joel Van and his wife Gay and daughter -in -law Gina Strickland Guzman and her husband Nestor, Luana Strickland Ude and husband David, Zet Sheril Strickland and his wife Joe. Her grandchildren Steetson Strickland, Shannon Strickland, Tyler Strickland, Grayson Strickland, Hannah Connaway and Jacob Connaway and her great granddaughter Roman Strickland. She was so loved by many cousins, nephews and nephews who would also continue their heritage.

Cynthia’s remarkable life will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 14:00 in the chapel of the funeral and cremation of Wilmington. Family and friends are invited to wear purple, honoring Cynthia’s favorite color as we get together to celebrate life well. The family asks anyone who plans to attend services, please RSVP as part of the Holiday of Life event below.

Instead of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to Cynthia’s memory of the communion of Christian athletes, an organization, a close and dear to her heart, to continue her inheritance from giving and kindness.

The family expands the heartfelt gratitude to the caring team in Bradley Creek for their compassionate support during the last days of Cynthia.
