Sioux Falls, SD (Kelo) – A hearing remains ongoing to determine if a teenager – charged with speeding and DUI in a fatal crash – will be tried in adult court.
Defendant in fatal SF wreck appears in court
Damon Laureles was 17 years old in April when an SUV crashed into a central Sioux Falls home, killing two teenagers and sending several others to the hospital.
Police described the Crash Scine crews’ response as “catastrophic”.
In court Tuesday, one of the first police officers to arrive at the scene. He said he remembers the doors of the vehicle being torn off and multiple people being thrown from the SUV.
There was also graphic video of the crash scene – from police body cameras – shown in court.
