Costumed Las Vegas cops enforce traffic laws to protect crooks – News3LV

Various police agencies came together today for a “high visibility enforcement” event to highlight pedestrian safety ahead of Halloween.

Officers from Clark County School District Police, North Las Vegas Police and Henderson Police converged near Charleston and Valley View Tuesday morning.

A police officer wearing a giant yellow inflatable suit crossed the street as part of an operation targeting drivers who failed to stop for pedestrians.

Officials said the event serves as a reminder to parents to be careful about how their children cross the streets during trick-or-treating, especially since it will be dark.

“It’s also a good reminder to slow down,” officials said, noting that speed is a significant contributing factor to crashes involving pedestrians or bicyclists.
