Hundreds of abortion activists gathered in front of Aidaho State Capitol, marching to celebrate the almost complete ban on Idaho abortions and to advocate for bans across the country.
Boyz, Idaho – hundreds of abortion activists gathered on Saturday in Capitol of Idaho State, marching from Julia Davis Park, to show their support for abortion laws and to summon such legislation across the country.
Participants, numbered over 500, expressed solidarity against abortion rights, noting the almost complete ban on abortion in Idaho. The speakers emphasized their belief in the protection of unborn lives.
“It’s still a little worrying that so many people find it acceptable even as an option to kill a baby,” said Steve Tosterud, a participant in the event.
The demonstrators came from different environments, with some noted the importance of such a gathering in a city that is often perceived as more liberal. Two attendees, Hannah Cook and Sarah Kaznirne, emphasized the unity of the community.
“Just being with the Boys community and knowing that there are other people, young and old, of different origin, is really special,” Kaznirne said.
Indiana’s obstetrician Christina Francis was the main lecturer and she was traveling from Indiana to share how he uses her job to fight abortion.
“No matter how much they try to make us silent, we will remain strong,” Francis said.
The right to life from Idaho organized the event, and they said it was comfortable to know that Abortion in Idaho was largely illegal and wanted it to be an encouragement for other states to follow the example.
Participants said it was inspiring to see so many community members united for an important cause.
“We are all here because we love mother and baby,” Tosterud said. “We are here for women’s rights and this is something I feel passionate about.”
