Dom Jolly, best known for his stand-up routines and TV program ‘Trigger Happy TV’, was seen in the grounds of Raby Castle, near Staindrop, last week after visiting the historic grounds.
This visit was part of the comedian’s series called ‘Dom Joly Castle Slagger’ – where he tours castles around the UK trying to make humorous comments about the architecture.
Despite the series’ name, Dom was full of praise for Raby Castle – calling it “beautiful” and also remained upbeat about the £18 entrance fee, while mocking Warwick Castle for its expensive entrance fee.
After his visit, the comedian uploaded the video to TikTok showing him looking around the Raby grounds and inside the castle.

And what was his sentence? After enjoying the gardens and all the artefacts in the castle, he declared that it was “the best castle I’ve ever been to”.
The clip, which you can watch here if you’ve got TikTok, shows off the impressive castle – although the comedian does go on a bit of a swearing rampage in parts of the two-minute clip, so viewers have been put on notice.
After posting the video, people were unanimous that Rabi was amazing – with one commenter saying: “You’re definitely right – Rabi is amazing!”
