The Alabama Crimson Tide have the week off on November 2nd, but will be back on the field for a do-or-die game with the LSU Tigers on November 9th.
Alabama is the No. 14 team in the nation according to the AP Poll and LSU is the No. 16 team in the nation according to the AP Poll. We’ll know where each team ranks in the College Football Playoff poll when the initial poll is released next Tuesday, Nov. 5.
The Crimson Tide will be traveling to Baton Rouge and they won’t be the only ones. College Gameday announced Saturday that the Gameday staff of Rece Davis, Des Howard, Nick Saban, Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit and Pat McAfee will join Alabama in Baton Rouge.
This is the second time this season that Alabama will get the Gameday spotlight, with the Crimson Tide hosting the College Football Playoff Show in week five when Alabama defeated the Georgia Bulldogs 41-34.
Alabama has made 60 College Gameday appearances since the show’s inception, with the Crismon Tide having a 38-21 overall record when on College Gameday.
Both the Crimson Tide and Tigers have their backs against the wall, with the loser of the game likely to be out of the expanded 12-team College Football Playoff race.
Alabama and LSU will kick off at 6:30pm CT on ABC on November 9th. The broadcast team has yet to be confirmed, but is expected to be headlined by Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit for play-by-play and color commentary.
Nick Saban will be forced to choose between the two teams he has coached most successfully. He won one national championship at LSU in 2003 and six national championships at Alabama in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017 and 2020.
