Sometimes ESPN’s College GameDay waits until Monday to announce where they’ll be heading next week. This time it was so pointless that they went ahead and announced it on Saturday during the current show.
During their Week 10 appearance in State College for the Ohio State-Penn State game, ESPN’s pregame broadcast announced they were headed to Death Valley next Saturday.

While it could be considered a down year for both programs, the No. 14 Alabama Crimson Tide and No. 16 LSU Tigers are currently 6-2 and fighting for a chance to sneak into the 12-team College Football Playoff. The loser of this game will effectively be eliminated from this contest, raising the stakes in what is already one of the SEC’s most intense showdowns of the year.
Meanwhile, the appearance will also mark Nick Saban’s return to Death Valley, where he routinely led the Tide to victories over the Tigers in his 17 seasons at the helm. He finished his coaching career 13-6 (.684). Before becoming a legend at Alabama, he began his SEC legacy as the head coach of the Tigers for 5 seasons, winning the 2003 national title.
It should all make for a fun and interesting Saturday GameDay looks to continue its dominance over A big lunchtime start.
