Cole Rueke has conquered the Collegiate showcase of Benesis Invitational for the second consecutive season. And at two different courses.

The showcase is usually played in Country Club Riviera, but due to the wild fires in Los Angeles, the tournament and the showcase were moved to the Torrey Pines Golf Club, The South Course, La Jola, California, in 2025.

Ruek wins a place in the field in the PGA Tour event of Championship Barracuda on the Old Greenwood golf course from July 14 to July 20, 2025.

Last season, he was a qualifier for open open from 2024, an individual Mountain West 2023-24 champion, a regional participant in the NCAA Stanford 2023-24 as an individual and was named on the All-Mountain West 2023-24 team. He graduated as a semifinalist at the Oregon amateur in 2023 and made the final 16 in the PNGA 2021 amateur.

Ruek is the son of Oregon’s female basketball coach Scott Rueke. He is currently ranked No. 334 in the Golfweek/Amateurgolf.com World Ranking.

Scottie Scheffler, Sahith thegala and Will Zalatoris, among others, won the showcase.

In the team competition, professionals and both amateurs (play in a certain percentage of their most up-to-date and checked handicap) will unite to play the best ball format (one ball). Low professional and amateur teams will take the trophy at home the champions for their school and a pleasant check will go to their university’s golf program.

Genesis Invitational Collegiate Showcase

In 2015, the Collegiate Stowcase Genesis Invitational Collegiate was founded. Two simultaneous competitions are held:

In the individual race, collegial players will play their own ball to record a score of 18 holes. When the collegial showcase was founded, the winner tested the excitement of the game at Genesis Invitational the same week in the Riviera. With the status of Geneisis Invitational, the “raised” showcases to the award of a play site at Scottish Open Genesis, the PGA Tour & DP World Tour, played in July.

In the team competition, professionals and both amateurs (play in a certain percentage of their latest and most verified handicap) will unite to play the best ball format (one ball). The team of low professional and amateurs will take the trophy of the champions for their school and a pleasant check that will go to the golf program of their university.
