More than 1 million ballots were cast in the first four days of early voting
More than one million voters cast ballots in North Carolina in the 2024 general election, according to the State Election Commission.
The board said preliminary data showed 1,008,123 ballots were cast statewide in the first four days of in-person early voting.
“My sincerest thanks to the county election boards and the thousands of election workers across the state who make this happen,” said Karen Brinson Bell, executive director of the state board. “It’s been an incredibly busy few days. Please thank those in your community who make sure your voice counts.”
On Saturday, nearly 863,000 voters cast ballots in the first three days of the early voting period. A 2.4% increase from 2020, when more voters voted absentee due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
